Our Mission
Lafayette L.O.S.T., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is dedicated to raising and donating monies to deserving persons in the oilfield that are in need of financial help and to other local needful charities. Our goal is to raise these monies through a series of Sporting Clays Tournaments, culminating in our Annual Championship Shoot, where adult men and women employed in the area oilfield and related service companies, can meet with fellowship in friendly competition.
Our Recipients
We ask that you contact a board member if you know of someone in our oilfield community that is in need of a donation. The donations are given away from the monies generated at the eight shoots during the year and the previous year's Championship shoot, so we are basically giving it all away! As a board, we will vet the recipient and let them know we have chosen them, and ask that the member who put the recipient in to introduce them and if available ask the recipient or a close family member give us the story of the recipient's needs.

Shoot Safety
Please always be safe and sober when on the range. When in the stand, always have your shotguns pointed down range, even if empty. Empty guns have killed and injure more people than you know.

Our Shoots
We currently have our shoots at 2 different sporting clays venues, with the shooting schedule usually finalized and sent to all of our members by email in January. You can also find our current shoot dates on this website. We ask you to become a member of our organization currently for $45 for the year, and are currently charging $65 per shoot to give us a modest profit to allow us to purchase the 5 guns for the Championship and monies to give away to our needful recipients. We also put out a gun with a raffle board that you can purchase chances on, as well as a 50/50 raffle that will be drawn at the Championship that you need not be present to win, but we hope you'll be there. It's a great group with shooting, good food and good friends.
What we do
Since 2004, we have held monthly shoots at different venues, culminating in our October Championship shoot. At the Championship when you register, we will give you a long sleeve shirt, designed for that specific year, a ticket and you will be flighted based on your best 3 scores for the season. Having completed at least 3 shoots that year, at our Championship, with your ticket, you will have an opportunity to win one of 3 nice guns, your flight gun, a middle gun, or our top gun. We will also present the monies we've raised during the year to a worthy recipient or recipients. We usually have a variety of guest sponsors, supplying you with a great meal, and we'll have canned cold drinks, water, gatorade, and different kinds of cold beer for after you've shot. And if you didn't complete 3 shoots, we'll allow you to "buy in" to compete.
